Douglas Youth Club is a local youth club in the Isle of Man. It's main purpose is to provide sporting, theatrical and social activities for young people aged between 8 and 21.
Douglas Youth Club is a facility provided by the Department of Education, Youth Service.The building has many different facilities which can be used for a number of different youth groups/special occasions. Douglas Youth Centre has a full size Drama/Performance hall equipped with the latest digital sound and lighting equipment to create professional shows, a full size gym/sports hall which can be used for a number of different sports ranging from football to badminton to hockey. There is also an Arts and Crafts room and even a recording studio which was built and managed by Soundcheck.
Douglas Youth Club is one of the largest Youth Clubs on the Island with over 450 young people visiting the youth centre on a weekly basis on a number of different sessions.
There are 19 part-time staff who run the various different sessions and a number of 'young' volunteers.
They are supported by 1 full-time youth and community worker, Jackie van Toor, who works from the Youth Club and within the schools.
